I make tableware with the goal of inviting continued study of the pieces, allowing the user to notice which features are immediately apparent, and what comes forward over time. It’s like getting to know your BFF, where your BFF is your coffee mug. Maybe it’s pottery for introverts. Or pottery for extroverts who need to practice balance.
Wares are generally created with a North Carolina-mixed low-fired earthenware. Clay and materials are purchased locally and most of my work is fired at low temperatures (cone 03) in an effort to minimize our collective environmental footprint. My studio is only 70 square feet (#tinystudiomovement - that’s a thing, right?) and is located near downtown Raleigh.
Dishes are food safe and can be put in the microwave and dishwasher.
